how this started.
Being not only a nurse, but a NICU nurse and mom myself, means I get calls and texts all the time from friends and family who are expecting babies (and I love it!). My friends had been coming to me before, during, and after birth for advice, guidance, support, and sometimes just a listening ear. I’d done video chats with girlfriends who just couldn’t get their baby to latch, countless phone calls troubleshooting broken sleep, and offered help with little things like how little boys pee everywhere but their diaper.
Then, my friends started asking questions on behalf of their friends. Simple things like, “How much milk should I put in a bottle?” It dawned on me that there is an incredible need for new parent support and education. Someone who is reputable, knowledgeable, supportive, and empathetic.
That’s what sparked Fourth Trimester Friend offering virtual support during those tender early weeks.
And now, I’m so excited to be expanding my offerings to include in-home visits for families across Sydney bringing the same trusted, compassionate support right to your doorstep. Whether you’re navigating your first postpartum or have just been discharged from the NICU, I’m here to help — just like I would for a close girlfriend.
Having someone you trust at your fingertips to message late night, or to send a poop picture to, or to vent on the phone with after a rough night. That’s who I am to my friends and that’s who I want to be to my clients.
