you've packed the bag and washed everything twice.
now walk out of that hospital knowing what's normal.
a nurse wheels you to the curb, somebody checks the car seat straps (maybe), and then they wave and go back inside. you drive away at 20 mph with a person who came with no instructions.
everything until that point had a professional attached to it. appointments, scans, a birth plan, probably a class. your OB signs you off at around six weeks, and in between, the person who knows the most about your baby is you. my goal is to make you feel familiar with newborn care before you are in it.
the moment.
what you'll be able to do.
Coming Home Confident is what I'd tell you if I were in the passenger seat. an overview of what you can expect the first 12 weeks. so you know what's normal, know what you can try, and know when you need to call.
you've read everything from Bringing Up Bébé to Cribsheet. you've got a folder of saved reels you'll never open again, and you bought a fourth swaddle last week because it felt like doing something. the hum is still there, the one that sounds like I hope I know enough.
this is the crash course in babies and the first few months. by the end of it, 'we'll see how it goes!' can stop being the answer you give about breastfeeding, because you know what a working feed looks like, and where to go when it doesn't. you can count a day of diapers and know not to panic when your three week old stops pooping every day. you know the 6pm stretch where she feeds for two hours straight doesn't mean your milk has gone, and you've got things to try while you ride it out. you can tell the temperature that means call from the one that means go now.
so at 2am, when she makes a noise you've never heard, you look at her and have an idea what's happening. instead of reaching for your phone to ask Claude, you put your head back down. you sleep. you've seen this before.
who I am.
I'm Tatiana. longtime NICU nurse, doctorally-prepared nurse practitioner, and most importantly mom of two.
that's over a decade of watching for the things that are easy to miss. I now spend my weeks consulting for new parents in Sydney, and I've done the 3am version from the inside as well.
to my friends I'm the one you message at 11pm about a noise, or send a poop picture to, or ring after a bad night just to complain at.
I built this because the messages didn't stop. I was typing the same answers at midnight to people I love, so I wrote them down properly and filmed them in order.
nine modules on the first twelve weeks. short videos, so you can find the ninety seconds you need at 3am rather than scrubbing through forty minutes to get to it.what’s inside.
where a module needs your local services, schedules or phone numbers, it comes with a downloadable reference sheet in an Australian and a US edition. the videos give you the principles. the sheets hold the things nobody should have to memorize, and you can pull one up with one hand.

34 weeks. the bag's been packed since 32 weeks and you've started reorganizing things that were already fine. you've still got quiet evenings. one of them gets you through Modules 1 to 3, and then the first week home is a week you've already walked through once.
day ten, and you're home. you've got four tabs open and none of them agree. start at Module 2, and by tonight you'll know which ones to close.
the questions I get asked.
-
Good! That's the hard part started. Most of them stop at the latch. This one carries on through cluster feeding, the sleepy feeder, bottles, pumping, your own recovery, sleep to twelve weeks, and the calls worth making.
-
Lessons run three to nine minutes and every one is its own video, titled for the thing it answers. Modules 1 to 3 are the foundation. If that's all you get through before she arrives, you'll still walk in knowing what a normal first week looks like.
-
Both. Same videos, and your reference sheets carry the services, schedules and phone numbers for your country.
-
No. No online course should replace your primary care provider. This course can help tell you what to bring them, how to describe what you're seeing, and when you might want to call.
